Viktor Malinovskij Challenges American Poker Player to $3M Heads-Up Match
In August 2023, Belarusian poker player Viktor Malinovskij challenged the poker community to a heads-up match. He proposed to play while intoxicated, and American poker player Matthew Gonzales accepted the challenge.
The heads-up match will take place in Las Vegas with stakes of $3,000,000 each. The loser of the match will get a tattoo with the amount of money lost.
Malinovskij and Gonzales have agreed to play in a casino in Las Vegas, with the game following Texas Hold'em rules. The blinds will be set at $1,000/$2,000, and neither player can top up their stack or end the game early.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
