Poker Pro Jackstack99 Shares Insights on Strategy and Bankroll Management
Jackstack99, also known as Jack, has earned over $5 million in his poker career, with over $4 million from hyper-turbo HU SNG and over $1 million from cash games. He started playing cash games 4 years ago and usually plays 1-2 days a week. Jackstack99 focuses on high-stakes cash games and managing the fund Team651, which trains and backs players in Spin and Go and cash.
Jackstack99 uses solvers like GTO Wizard and Lucid Poker to improve his game and advises others to do the same. He emphasizes the importance of understanding why solvers make certain decisions and not just copying them. "This is the most difficult part; sometimes you have to act on a hunch," he says. "The solver has access to the hand history of the two most unexploitable players in the world, and we see how they play in all spots. Our task is to guess why they do it that way."
Jackstack99 shares that he lost his entire bankroll early in his career but recovered by adhering to strict bankroll management. "This happened once, 17 years ago, at the very beginning of my career," he recalls. "I was an amateur but already dreamed of a professional career. I played HUSNG for $100, lost, then for $200, $500, and reached $1k. This was my entire bankroll; my heart was pounding; and, of course, I lost." He felt terrible after the loss but had a crucial conversation with a friend that changed his approach to bankroll management. "We convinced each other how important it is to adhere to bankroll management if we want to achieve something," he says. "Such losses are too destructive; after such a loss, you don't want to see anyone or do anything." He now strictly follows bankroll management principles and avoids playing limits that are beyond his means.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
