Ryan Fee Analyzes High-Stakes Poker Hands on 2+2 Forum

Ryan Fee, a cash game 6-max player and author of a strategic guide to the discipline, won a bracelet at the World Series of Poker 2016 in a paired tournament with Douglas Polk. He regularly records instructional videos for Upswingpoker, where he selected 11 hands for analysis, nine in hold'em and two in Omaha.

The first hand discussed involves Jason Koon and an opponent identified as Zaru. Jason Koon calls a 3-bet pre-flop and then calls a series of bets on the flop, turn, and river. Zaru's betting line suggests a strong hand, likely a pocket pair from tens to aces. The second hand involves Secret_M0d3 (Dario Sammartino) and caecilius (Nick Petrangelo). Secret_M0d3 makes a large bet on the turn and a small overbet on the river. The third hand involves OtB_RedBaron and hhecklen, with caecilius also at the table. OtB_RedBaron makes a small continuation bet on a paired board, and hhecklen responds with a check-raise. On the river, hhecklen checks, and OtB_RedBaron does not have a strong hand to bet.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
