From Poker Struggles to Magazine Stardom: The Author's Journey with Pokerisivut
After returning from Vegas, the author deposited most of his remaining $1,000 into poker room accounts, keeping only $200 for living expenses. He initially played SNGs to avoid bankruptcy, starting with $11 games and gradually moving up to $33 games.
Despite his efforts, the author lost $5,000 in online roulette after his bankroll reached $10,000. This financial setback did not deter him from continuing his poker journey.
The first issue of Pokerisivut magazine was released in August. Pokerisivut was one of the largest affiliates in Finland and aimed to create the best poker magazine in the world. The magazine featured high-quality photography and design, with contributions from renowned photographers like Saumli Karala. The author was offered a permanent job at Pokerisivut after the success of the first issue.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
