PLO Mastermind Trainers Share Insights on Poker Hands and Strategies
PLO Mastermind trainers Fernando Habegger and Alexey Altshuller recently hosted a live Q&A session on Twitch, where they analyzed various poker hands and discussed strategies. The session, open to all viewers, provided valuable insights into the minds of professional poker players.
In one of the hands discussed, the player on the big blind held AA, and the flop was AA. Alexey Altshuller suggested calling in this situation, noting that raising against such opponents would likely result in mistakes. Fernando Habegger agreed, stating that players with such VPIP statistics are unlikely to fold two pairs on a straight board and will likely call with a variety of hands.
Another hand involved a player on the button with a strong hand on the flop. The player considered the sizing of their bet, and Alexey Altshuller suggested betting half the pot. Fernando Habegger, however, disagreed with the player's small bet on the turn, advising more aggressive betting. The trainers emphasized the importance of proper sizing in poker bets, highlighting how it can influence the outcome of a hand.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
