Mike McDonald Wins Basketball Prop Bet After Intense Free Throw Challenge
Mike McDonald, known as 'Timex', has won a significant basketball prop bet involving 90 successful free throws. The poker player faced criticism from Nick Schulman, who initially disputed the win due to breaks taken during the throws.
McDonald had to drive three hours to reach a basketball court for practice, highlighting his commitment to the challenge. Despite the initial dispute, McDonald successfully completed 90 throws without any break to satisfy critics.
This prop bet has been one of the most publicized by a poker player in recent times, with many doubting McDonald's chances given the rarity of such a feat. The world record for consecutive free throws, set by a man in his sixties 24 years ago, stands at 209.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
