Massachusetts Supreme Court Questions Kalshi's Sports Contracts
Kalshi’s appeal of a temporary injunction barring the prediction market company from offering sports event contracts in Massachusetts played out in the state’s supreme court on Monday. Attorneys for Kalshi argued that prediction markets are solely regulated at the federal level by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), not state gaming regulators.
Assistant Attorney General Gerard Cedrone argued that ruling in favor of Kalshi would be a massive shift in the Bay State’s sports betting regulation. Justice Scott Kafker argued that Congress wasn’t clear in the legislation in regard to giving the federal government control over prediction markets that offer “a way to bet on a game,” according to Reuters.
The entire issue could eventually reach the US Supreme Court.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
