Game of Goals 2018: Only 18 out of 41 Participants Completed the Marathon
The 'Game of Goals' marathon, which started in July 2018, had 41 participants initially. However, only 18 successfully completed the marathon, while 23 participants dropped out. The dropouts contributed an additional $1,355.38 to the prize fund, which was distributed among the successful participants. Each of the 18 successful participants received $75 in addition to their own contribution.
The remaining $5.38 went to Ilya Gorodetskiy for his services as a guarantor. Over the last 11 days of the marathon, 136 messages with the tag #играцелей2018 were posted, with 120 of these being reports from active participants. The overall mood was generally positive, as participants focused on achieving their more realistic goals.
Participants found motivation in various ways. Ezer completed a detailed analysis of poker hands twice a day throughout the month. D1sa's video on meditation was one of the most popular reports during the marathon. Shalombro completed all his goals and wrote a detailed post about the marathon. Shpr0ta, despite not making it to the final, discovered various insights about the poker community.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
