Fedor Holz Learns from Stefan and Steffen in Intensive Poker Session

Fedor Holz recently engaged in an intensive poker session with Stefan and Steffen, where he played several hands and received detailed feedback. In one hand, Holz checked on the flop, bet on the turn and river, and called a check-raise on the river. Steffen Zontheim commented that always checking the river is a mistake and that frequent calls against check-raises are not good.

In another hand, Holz called a 3-bet from Stefan with and Stefan called. On the flop, Stefan bet the pot and Holz called. On the turn, both players checked, and on the river, Holz bet, but there were no comments on the hand.

Holz also called a 3-bet from an opponent with and the opponent called. On the flop, the opponent bet the pot and Holz called. On the turn, the opponent went all-in and Holz called. Steffen Zontheim commented that Holz's hand is a fold against a balanced range and that the opponent's sizing on the flop is far from optimal.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
