Daniel Negreanu's New YouTube Series: Old School vs. New
Daniel Negreanu has launched a new YouTube series called 'Old School vs. New' where he analyzes famous poker hands. The first episode of the series features Gus Hansen. Negreanu and Hansen played against each other in three significant hands during the sixth season of the show.
In the episode, Negreanu discusses a hand from the sixth season where he raised with 7c5c from UTG in a $400/$800 game with a $200 ante. Gus Hansen slow-played pocket dams, and Jason Merse on the big blind called with JTo. Negreanu made a strong bet with two pairs on the flop.
Gus Hansen raised to $21,000, surprising Negreanu. Negreanu raised to $71,000, and Hansen went all-in for $195,000. Negreanu called and won the hand when Hansen revealed pocket dams. Negreanu analyzed the hand using both old-school and modern Game Theory Optimal (GTO) strategies.
