Charles Barkley Pushes for Sports Betting in Alabama
NBA legend Charles Barkley expressed support for legalizing sports betting in Alabama on The Next Round podcast. He stated that not legalizing sports betting in Alabama is 'silly'.
Alabama is one of only five states without a lottery. Barkley admitted to losing millions of dollars in casinos, including $2.5 million in a six-hour blackjack session in 2007.
Despite his past gambling experiences, Barkley has expressed interest in joining an ownership group for a potential commercial casino in Alabama.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
