Bruin Capital Acquires Oddschecker from Flutter for $214.3 Million
Bruin Capital has acquired Oddschecker from Flutter Entertainment for $214.3 million. The deal is subject to regulatory approval, which Flutter Entertainment is currently awaiting. Bruin Capital is a New York-based private equity firm.
Flutter Entertainment will pay $186.7 million immediately in Q3 of this year, with an additional $27.7 million payment conditional upon undisclosed factors.
Oddschecker is a significant player in the UK betting market, influencing as much as 10% of all bets placed—a massive $4.2 billion per year. The company provides 260 million odds updates every single day, making it the top oddsmaker in the country. PokerNews, founded by high-stakes player and politician Tony G, is not part of the deal with Bruin Capital. PokerNews was sold to The Stars Group in 2010, which was later acquired by Flutter.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
