Shark in poker

Definition

A very strong, winning player who exploits weaker opponents.

Sharks are the opposite of fish: they select tables, adjust to opponents and rarely make big mistakes. The term is often used for the best players at high stakes.

The terms fish and shark are slang and are better not used at the table, where they are considered rude.
