Fish in poker
Definition
A weak or inexperienced player who makes many mistakes and tends to lose money in the long run.
Fish usually play too many hands and call too often. Winning players make most of their profit from them, so poker rooms and good players want the table to stay friendly to recreational players.
Recognising the fish at the table and playing more hands against them is a basic skill called table selection.
