Nit in poker
Definition
An extremely tight and passive player who plays only a few strong hands and folds to pressure.
Nits have a very low VPIP and rarely bluff. The best way to exploit a nit is to steal their blinds often and to fold when they show strength with a bet or a raise.
Against a nit, a big bet or raise usually means a very strong hand.
