You-mad-br0: From Corporate Life to High-Stakes Poker

George 'You-mad-br0' Frogatt's journey from corporate life to high-stakes poker is an inspiring story of dedication and skill. In 2018, George worked in consulting and played poker in his free time. He fully focused on poker in 2019, playing 550,000 hands, almost 400,000 of them on NL200, earning around $100,000.

2020: A Year of Significant Growth

In 2020, George's main limits were NL500 and NL1k, playing 530,000 hands and winning $280,000. He attributed his rapid progress to the support of friends like FourSixFour, Mayo, Pads, ishter, Psek, D7, youseffahmed, mczhang, and Makeboifin’. He also earned around $55,000 in rakeback, with a record month of about 75,000 hands played.

George mentioned that he will now publish his results quarterly instead of monthly, citing the stress of monthly reporting. He also shared his experiences with high-stakes games on GG, winning $100,000 on NL5k and losing $110,000 on NL10k and NL20k.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
