WSOP 2020 in Jeopardy as Coronavirus Spreads
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2020 is set to be one of the largest in history, with plans to host 101 bracelet tournaments, including 87 live events and 14 online events. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has cast a shadow of uncertainty over the event.
To manage the expected crowds, WSOP organizers have announced several measures. Registration and payout counters will be expanded and placed in different halls. Additionally, self-service ticket printing machines will be available for those who registered online, with the goal of increasing usage from 20% to 80%. A separate support desk will be available for players experiencing issues with electronic registration.
Despite these preparations, the coronavirus outbreak continues to pose challenges. WSOP leadership has stated that they are monitoring the situation and following expert advice, but the series is still planned to go ahead as scheduled. However, the possibility of cancellation has not been ruled out. The situation is fluid, and organizers are prepared to adapt to any changes.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
