WPT Poker Industry Invitational Raises Funds for COVID-19 Vaccine Research

The WPT Poker Industry Invitational, a charity poker tournament, raised $2,560 for COVID-19 vaccine research. The tournament, which was part of the WPT Online series, had a $320 buy-in, with $20 from each entry going to charity. The event featured participants from various countries, including Russia.

Itairo Segabinazzi, an editor of a Brazilian poker portal, won the final heads-up match. He won $7,212 and a ticket to the Shooting Stars tournament featuring celebrities.

Segabinazzi's victory came after a intense final match against Karim Wilkins, the executive director of RakeTheRake. Wilkins, who had J-J, was unable to overcome Segabinazzi's pocket kings, which included a king on the flop, securing Segabinazzi's win.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
