WPT BCN 1A: Raúl Mestre and Darkored Advance, Others Face Re-entry
In the WPT BCN 1A tournament, Raúl Mestre and Darkored advanced to the next round. Raúl Mestre started strong, doubling the average points with a lucky hand, but faced challenges later. Darkored remained steady with 28,800 points.
Unfortunately, Samuel Jimenez, José Miguel Espinar, and Emilio Domínguez were eliminated. Samuel Jimenez, in his debut as a professor, faced a tough day and was eliminated after going all-in with A K against J T. José Miguel Espinar had a series of bad beats, including losing with J J vs Q Q and A J vs Q Q. Emilio Domínguez had minimal action and pushed his remaining chips with 8 7s, which didn't improve his situation.
Rubén Sánchez, known as MaRLaCa, had a remarkable day, securing 108,800 points and becoming the second-best Spanish player and fourth overall. Other notable players joining the tournament include Breixo González, Manuel Allende, Rafael Estefanía, Jaime Rueda, Federico Spagnuoli, Jonnie82, and Joan Martínez.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
