World Series of Poker: Big Move to Bally's in 2022?
The World Series of Poker 2021 may be the final edition hosted at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. Bally’s Hotel & Casino could become the home of the World Series of Poker. The first WSOP to take place at the Rio was in 2005. Caesars Entertainment sold off the Rio property to Imperial Companies in 2019 for $516.3 million. Caesars retained the hosting rights for the WSOP after selling the Rio property.
The VNEA Pool League publicly announced its future venue after being unexpectedly booted out of Bally’s. A Facebook post by VNEA Pool League stated that the WSOP moving from Rio to the Bally’s/Paris properties in 2022 and beyond.
This move could be a significant change for the WSOP, which has been held at the Rio since 2005. The potential shift to Bally’s Hotel & Casino comes as Las Vegas businesses look to attract tourists in the post-COVID world. The WSOP is one of the most prestigious poker events in the world, and its move to a new venue could have a significant impact on the Las Vegas poker scene.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
