Poker Pro Vladimir Alkohero Analyzes NL50 Hand with Trainer Ivan Megaman
Vladimir Alkohero, a fast poker player on PokerOK, agreed to have his skills checked by analyzing a NL50 hand. Alkohero prefers to just call rather than 4-bet preflop considering the positions. On the flop, Alkohero thinks he could have raised, but was unsure what to do if there was another raise.
On the turn, Alkohero is unsure about the sizing of the opponent's bets on both the flop and the turn. On the river, Alkohero realizes he made mistakes but couldn't fold.
Trainer Ivan Megaman advises that a good poker player should put the opponent in a 'knees-and-elbows' position. Megaman suggests that against an unknown opponent, one should play as if they are a mid-competent player. Megaman advises that a 4-bet preflop would have allowed Alkohero to define the opponent's range for less money. Megaman notes that the flop is suitable for the calling range of a 3-bet on UTG, with enough pocket pairs and suited broadways. Megaman suggests that on the flop, Alkohero could have flipped a coin, but this should have been decided preflop.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
