Virginia Woman Vanesa Wins Record $240K on 'The Price Is Right'

A woman from Virginia made history by winning a record $240,000 prize on the popular game show 'The Price Is Right'. The winner, Vanesa, beat the previous record of $210,000, which was set in 2016.

The game 'The Lion's Share' was introduced during the premier episode of the 54th season of 'The Price is Right' in September 2025. The game is a result of the partnership between BetMGM and Fremantle. Players are asked to guess the prices of everyday items, with correct answers earning them balls for a chance to win big prizes.

Vanesa expressed her excitement and surprise at winning such a large prize. 'From 'Come on Down' to playing 'The Lion's Share,' it all felt so surreal - a dream moment that only kept getting bigger. I was nervous, excited and everything at once,' she said in a press release. Vanesa plans to invest wisely, enjoy a little and treat her mom to a special surprise with her winnings.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
