Uri Peleg Critiques Charlie Carrel's Poker Strategy in NL100 Game
Uri Peleg, a member of the Guerrilla Poker team, recently shared his thoughts on Charlie Carrel's poker strategy in a recent NL100 video. Peleg finds Carrel's approach creative and non-standard, noting that his success proves that playing differently from other regulars is possible.
In one hand, Charlie Carrel calls with KQo on the small blind against a 2.5x open from the middle position. Peleg disagrees with Carrel's explanation, stating that the call is too loose and that viewers should not follow this line. He also notes that Carrel's mini-raise on a 1/3 pot bet has a logical justification, but he believes that Carrel's overbet on the turn wins the pot more often than needed for a positive expectation.
Peleg praises Carrel's psychological style, which puts opponents in unfamiliar situations. He also notes that Carrel's decisions are often intuitive and that he effectively narrows down his opponents' ranges. However, Peleg believes that Carrel's strategy is most effective against lower-level opponents and that regulars on higher limits are better at reading opponents.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
