Tom Dwan's Offline Challenge: First Opponent Confirmed, Second Seeking Funds
Tom Dwan is ready to play an offline version of his challenge match in a television format. If his online challenge was quickly accepted by Patrick Antonius, finding opponents for the offline version took longer. In the end of last week, the first opponent was officially confirmed: Sami George, who is willing to play 500 hands or until his money runs out.
Sami George, known as Any two, claims to have won 3 million euros playing cash games in private London clubs. He lives in England and, while he doesn't have serious tournament achievements, he is known for his collection of expensive cars in his garage. George explains his nickname by saying that 7-2 preflop has the same value as A-A for him.
Eddie Hearn mentioned that Luke Schwartz is trying to raise the necessary funds to participate in the show. In the online version of the challenge against Patrick Antonius, 20,647 hands have been played out of 50,000, with Tom Dwan leading by 726,546 dollars. Antonius has not appeared at Dwan's tables for two months.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
