Timoey Kuznetsov on the $50,000 Championship and High-Stakes Poker

The second day of the $50,000 player championship is currently underway, with only 72 participants registered, the lowest number ever. This is the second day of the championship, and the registration is still open for several more hours. The previous lowest number of participants was 84, recorded in 2015.

Timoey Kuznetsov, a Russian player, participated in the championship. Kuznetsov mentioned that he started playing deep stack NL due to $400/$800 games in 2013. He believes that these games pushed him to play more NL in deep stacks but does not consider them a defining moment in his career.

Kuznetsov also shared his thoughts on other high-stakes players. He believes that MalACEsia had a natural talent for high-stakes games and that Samrostan won several million dollars in online poker and later in live cash games in Macau. Kuznetsov prefers cash games over tournaments and plans to play in the Millionaire tournament in London.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
