South Dakota and Maryland Legalize Sports Betting
Residents of South Dakota voted to legalize sports betting with 58% of the vote. In Maryland, sports betting was legalized with a 2-to-1 voter margin.
South Dakota will need to amend its constitution to allow sports betting. Sports betting in South Dakota will only be allowed in Deadwood. Maryland does not require constitutional amendments for sports betting.
The legislative framework for sports betting in both states will be ready by the first half of 2021. Sports betting operations in both states are expected to start by the end of 2021.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
