Raúl Mestre Leads EPT San Remo After Day 3
Raúl Mestre started Day 4 with 940,000 points, leading the EPT San Remo. Mikel Gurrea and Pedro Pellicer also advanced, while several players were eliminated.
Raúl Mestre had a strong start to the day, with a notable hand against Thiago Crema de Macedo. In his first hand, Raúl Mestre four-bet to 45,000 points from the small blind. Thiago Crema de Macedo five-bet to 82,700, and Raúl Mestre called. On the flop 4 9 J, Raúl Mestre checked, and Thiago Crema de Macedo bet 75,500. Raúl Mestre then went all-in, and after much thought, Thiago Crema de Macedo folded.
Raúl Mestre faced Vicky Coren, a familiar opponent from the 2011 IFP World Championship heads-up final. In their first encounter, Vicky Coren won 100,000 points from Raúl Mestre, leaving him with 800,000 points. Vicky Coren joked about giving Raúl Mestre a pill, saying, 'LITTLE DOES HE KNOW IT'S LACED WITH DIAZEPAM.'

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
