PokerStars Introduces New Game Format and Bounty Series

PokerStars has reintroduced Fusion, a unique combination of hold'em and omaha, with limits ranging from NL5 to NL5,000. In this format, players start with two cards and end up with four by the river. The additional closed cards are dealt on the flop and turn, and the winner is determined by omaha rules, requiring two cards from the hand.

There is speculation that PokerStars may introduce six-card omaha, a game previously available on Full Tilt. This format, if introduced, is expected to join the permanent rotation of formats like five-card omaha and its high-low variant, Courchevel.

The Bounty Builder Series on PokerStars will run from February 2 to 16, featuring 180 progressive knockout tournaments with a total guarantee of $25,000,000. Buy-ins range from $1.1 to $10,300, with many expensive tournaments accessible through satellites. The main event on the last day starts at 21:00 with a $530 buy-in and a minimum prize pool of $2,500,000. Players can qualify through temporary spins costing $4, which offer tournament series tickets as prizes.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
