PokerStars Caribbean Adventure: Russian Players Shine in Increased Field
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) tournament this year allowed one re-entry, which significantly boosted the number of registrations. After two starting days, there were 842 entries, with an additional 23 players joining before Day 2. This is a notable increase from last year's 582 entries when Maria Lampropoulos won the tournament.
The prize pool for the final table was substantial, with the first place taking home $1,567,100, the second place receiving $951,480, and the third place earning $671,240. The Russian contingent had a strong showing, with several players making significant impacts. After two starting days, the stacks of Russian players included Alexander Kharkov with 350,500, Pavel Pleshuv with 191,200, and Pavel Veksler with 148,300.
One of the most notable moments was the showdown between Pavel Veksler and Pavel Pleshuv on the final level. Veksler emerged as a leader, while Pleshuv exited in 91st place. Alexander Kharkov, who was initially the chip leader, faced a tough loss when he went against Christoph Vogel's black kings with his red fours.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
