Poker Underground: The Author's Wild Ride in Boston

The author's journey in Boston was marked by both personal and poker-related challenges. One of the reasons he left Boston was the difficulty in finding a townhouse with his friends, which caused significant frustration.

Returning to Boston in August 2007, the author was determined to make poker his full-time occupation. He lied to his mother about returning to university, but his true intention was to focus on poker. Rich, a friend, found them a modest apartment in Ellisone, where he worked as a postman and a dealer. The author's social life was equally chaotic; he began dating a first-year student who eventually broke up with him due to his lifestyle. Despite this, he became a master of the Jewish dating site Jdate, using his BMW and invitations to fine restaurants to attract students.

The author's poker schedule was intense. He played until 5-6 AM, slept until 3-4 PM, and then went out again to play in the evening. Mun organized a new poker game in Back-Bay, where the author played with a variety of regulars. One notable couple included a wife who was a professional poker player. The author recalls a player named Ron, who did well in the main event of the 2015 World Series of Poker. Two members of the Saudi royal family, Saeed and Sagar, were regulars at the poker games and were known for their aggressive playing styles. The author's apartment was burglarized, leading to Rich moving in with his girlfriend and the author rarely staying there.
