Poker Tournaments Go Online: WSOP, APT, and More Shift to Digital Platforms

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) hopes to start on May 27, 2020, with daily tournaments beginning May 26. The WSOP Circuit events from New Jersey to Rosvaadov were canceled after February, and 18 bracelets were awarded online in the American room WSOP.

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series will run from April 29 to May 10, 2020, with key tournaments mirroring offline formats. The Unibet Open Tallinn will be held online on May 24-25, 2020, with a main tournament and a more affordable version.

The Irish Open concluded on April 13, 2020, and the Dusk Till Dawn 500 Online tournament started the same day with a guarantee of £1,000,000. The Poker Masters series on partypoker will run until April 26, 2020, with a minimum buy-in of $10,300.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
