Poker Titans, Gladiators, and a Princess: High-Stakes Action in Vienna and Manila

The World Poker Tour (WPT) Vienna kicked off with 233 players competing in day 1B at the Casino Montesino. Ana Márquez was the sole Spanish representative, but her run was cut short when she was eliminated in a hand of three of a kind vs three of a kind.

Day 2 of the WPT Vienna begins with Darko Stojanovic leading the pack. Other prominent players include O'Dwyer, Timoshenko, Katchalov, and Duhamel.

The “PartyPoker Big Game” event in Vienna is a unique 48-hour marathon with periodic voting to expel players. Notable participants include “Elky”, “jungleman”, and Sam Trickett. A high roller event with a $130,000 buy-in is set for late April in Manila, featuring Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan “durrrr” among the expected participants. Georges St-Pierre, the UFC welterweight champion, has joined Team 888 and will participate in the main event of the WSOP 2012.
