Can a Poker Solver Beat NL25? Trainer Peter Clark Has Doubts
Poker trainer Peter Clark has raised doubts about whether a poker solver can beat the NL25 limit. The rake on NL25 is approximately between 7.5 and 9 bbs. This high rake makes it challenging to beat the limit, even for players who significantly outperform the field.
The poker solver's strategy is based on balance and non-exploitability, with perfect frequencies and no vulnerabilities. This means that even if an opponent knows the solver's strategy, they cannot exploit it to increase their expectation. However, Clark questions the practical value of this non-exploitability, suggesting that it may not provide much benefit in real-game situations.
The solver's precision in choosing lines with maximum EV is valuable, but its absolute value is not definitive. Clark argues that the solver's ideal precision in borderline situations is small strokes on the large canvas of the game. He believes that aggressive adjustments against specific types of players can have a much greater impact on win rate than the solver's precise, theoretical plays.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
