Poker Rooms in Spain Face Uncertain Transition to Regulated Market
The transition of poker rooms to the new .es regulated market in Spain has been delayed until at least December 31. Poker-Red sent an email to nine poker rooms on December 7, 2012, asking about the migration process from .com to .es platforms. The email, sent by Jairo, editor jefe of Poker-Red, included questions about the start of activity, access to funds, migration process, and affiliate choices.
Poker-Red received vague responses from poker rooms regarding the migration process. Many rooms cited strategic, commercial, or legal reasons for not providing clear answers. Some responses included:
The article also mentions that in Italy and France, users could choose a different affiliate for their new .es accounts. However, in Spain, this option is unlikely to be available. The article lists several poker networks and their respective rooms that are expected to operate in the new regulated Spanish market, including PokerStars, 888poker, Full Tilt Poker, PartyGaming, GTECH G2, iPoker, Microgaming, and Ongame.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
