Poker Pro Bond18 Shares MTT Stack Size Strategies
The article is a translation of a series of articles by known MTT player and 2+2 forum moderator, Tony “Bond18” Dunstan. The author regularly sees the same mistakes in low buy-in MTT discussions on forums. With 10 big blinds (BB) or less, you should generally push all-in with any hand you plan to play. With 14-21 BB, you should not usually raise with hands that cannot call a 3-bet. With 22-30 BB, you have more room for opening raises but this stack size is too large for all-in restands in most cases. With 30-40 BB, many players try to restand with this stack size pre-flop. With more than 40 BB, you have a full arsenal of maneuvers at your disposal.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
