Paul Bilzerian: The Corporate Raider Who Outsmarted the US Government for 25 Years

Paul Bilzerian, a corporate raider, has been evading US government penalties for 25 years. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) officially ceased its pursuit of $62 million in penalties against Bilzerian. Despite the SEC's efforts, Bilzerian has managed to keep his assets hidden, leaving the government with significant losses.

Bilzerian's son, Dan Bilzerian, is a social media star known for his lavish lifestyle. Dan Bilzerian has gained millions of followers with his reports on the pleasures of a playboy and high roller lifestyle—cars, weapons, and girls in bikinis.

Bilzerian served in the Vietnam War and was awarded three medals. After his service, he attended Stanford University and Harvard Business School. He entered the world of corporate raiding in the 1980s, targeting companies like Hammermill Paper Co. and Singer Co. His hostile takeovers often resulted in high payouts for his investments.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
