Paddy Power Betfair Settles with Gambling Commission Over 2016 Cases
Paddy Power Betfair has entered into a regulatory settlement with the Gambling Commission regarding five cases from 2016. These cases involved former policies that were not sufficiently effective in addressing responsible gambling and anti-money laundering requirements.
As part of the settlement, Paddy Power Betfair will return £500,000 to the impacted parties and will make a £1.7 million payment to GambleAware. GambleAware is an independent charity which commissions research, education and treatment services to reduce gambling related harm in Great Britain.
Peter Jackson, CEO of Paddy Power Betfair, stated that the company has a responsibility to intervene when customers show signs of problem gambling. In these five cases, the interventions were not effective, and the company expressed regret for the occurrences. Paddy Power Betfair has invested in an extensive programme of work to strengthen their resources and systems in responsible gambling and customer protection.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
