Controversy Erupts as Odin Poker Removes Time Delay, Facilitating Real-Time Assistance
Odin Poker, a popular poker training tool, has removed its 20-second delay, sparking a significant controversy in the online poker community. The change, effective from February 28, 2023, is seen as a dangerous move that will more easily facilitate real-time assistance by unethical players.
Odin Poker founder Rory Young defended the decision, stating that other poker training tools operate without a delay. He also mentioned attempting to negotiate a gentleman's agreement with other GTO software providers to maintain a delay, but no deal was reached.
Vanessa Kade took a balanced view, emphasizing the importance of ethical behavior regardless of what others are doing. Kahle Burns, an Australian poker pro, declined to continue promoting Odin Poker after the change. Matt Berkey and K.L. Cleeton also expressed their concerns about the lack of regulatory oversight and the prioritization of short-term profit over the integrity of the game.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
