GeoComply's data shows a 176% increase in geolocation checks on Sunday compared to the last Sunday of August, which featured a preseason game. The total number of geolocation checks with US-regulated sportsbooks over the first week of NFL play reached 99.8 million. This high volume of checks is indicative of the intense interest and activity surrounding NFL betting.

FanDuel, a well-known sportsbook, reported its 'biggest NFL regular season Sunday ever by active customers,' highlighting the sustained and growing interest in NFL betting. The prediction market operators also saw significant activity, with seven operators tracked by Aldrin Research leading to $510.9 million in trades during the opening week. Companies like DraftKings Predictions, Novig, Prophet X, and Crypto dot com either broke new records or approached those numbers, underscoring the boost that the new NFL season has provided to both legacy sportsbooks and prediction market platforms.
