New York Mets Make History with Prediction Market Partnership
The New York Mets announced a partnership with the Novig prediction market platform on Thursday, making them the first MLB franchise to partner with a prediction market. The team announced a multi-year marketing deal that makes the Mets the first MLB team to partner with a prediction market firm.
Novig debuted in 2021 as a peer-to-peer sports betting platform. Founded by Harvard graduates Jacob Fortinsky and Kelechi Ukah, the company later transitioned to a prediction market model. The company received approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) last month.
Mets owner Steve Cohen hasn’t been shy about entering the gaming space. In December, his plan for a casino around Citi Field was one of three projects to receive a downstate New York gaming license.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
