Mike Watson Wins €872,940 at EPT Barcelona High Roller
Mike Watson made a stunning comeback at the EPT Barcelona €50,000 Single-Day High Roller, winning €872,940. The event, held at the PokerStars and Barcelona©Casino EPT stop, attracted 59 entries and created a prizepool of close to €3 million.
The tournament featured a strong field of poker professionals, including Stephen Chidwick, Steve O’Dwyer, Kahle Burns, Paul Phua, Patrik Antonius, David Peters, Michael Addamo, and Dan Smith. Notably absent were Ali Imsirovic and Jake Schindler. Stephen Chidwick became the bubble boy, losing most of his chips in a crucial hand against Pascal Lefrancois.
Watson's journey to the top was marked by his unique approach of firing four bullets. He described his strategy as “pure stubbornness,” taking a break after the third bullet to prepare for his final run. In the heads-up against Kahle Burns, Watson secured his victory with a straight flush, winning the €872,940 top prize. Burns finished second, earning €572,420, while Arthur Conan took third place with €415,000.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
