Mike Watson Secures Runner-Up Spot in WCOOP Tournament with $10,300 Buy-In

Mike Watson, a seasoned professional poker player from Canada, recently secured the runner-up spot in the WCOOP tournament with a $10,300 buy-in. Watson, who has a live poker career earnings of $12,118,000, has consistently proven his skills in the poker world.

The WSOOP-02-H tournament, part of the WCOOP 2020 series, attracted 136 participants, including many well-known professionals. The event featured a significant prize pool, with the winner taking home $400,000 and Watson earning $198,000 as the runner-up.

The final table of the tournament was intense, with players like Patrick Leonard and Andrey Novak making notable appearances. However, notable players who did not make it to the ITM zone included Artur Martirosyan, Fedor Holz, Benjamin Rolle, Hello_totti, and Niklas Astedt. Despite not making it to the ITM zone, these players still received bounty payments for eliminating other participants.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
