Michael Mizrachi Wins WSOP Poker Players Championship for Third Time
The Poker Players Championship, a prestigious $50,000 event, has been a highlight of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) since its inception in 2006. Originally known as the H.O.R.S.E. World Championship, this tournament has always attracted top poker players from around the world.
Michael Mizrachi made history by winning the Poker Players Championship for the third time in 2018. His victory earned him $1,239,126 and added another braces to his collection. Mizrachi's previous wins in this championship were in 2010, where he defeated Vladimir Schemelev, and in 2012.
In the 2018 final, Mizrachi faced stiff competition from notable players. He defeated John Hennigan, a five-time WSOP champion, and Dan Smith, who was aiming for his first WSOP victory. This victory marks Mizrachi's fourth WSOP bracelet, with his other win coming from a WSOP Europe event in 2011.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
