Max Lykov Crowned EPT Player of the Year
Max Lykov has been named the Player of the Year at the European Poker Tour (EPT).
Max Lykov collected 19 points for finishing in the top 8 of a €5,250 heads-up side tournament. The 22-year-old Russian online poker star was the clear favorite to win the award, having already secured significant points from previous tournaments.
Alan Bakke, the winner of EPT Snowfest and semi-finalist of EPT San Remo, received the Achievement of the Year award. Bakke, who was in close contention for the Player of the Year title, was awarded a package for the first tournament of the 7th season of EPT in Tallinn. Pierre Neville, a 68-year-old pensioner, won the Online Satellite Player of the Year award, securing his spot in 10 out of 13 tournaments in the sixth season.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
