Maverick Gaming to Close Eight Casinos in Washington, Affecting 850 Jobs
Maverick Gaming has announced the permanent closure of eight casino locations in Washington, impacting 850 jobs. The first closures will begin on November 1, 2026.
The closures will affect well-known locations such as Great American Casino in Everett, Chip’s Casino, Macau Casino and Palace Casino in Lakewood, All Star Casino in Silverdale, Casino Caribbean in Yakima, Crazy Moose Casino in Pasco, and Coyote Bobs Casino in Kennewick. The Tukwila properties will be the first to close, putting 238 people out of jobs.
Maverick Gaming has been under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection since 2025 and has already closed five locations since April 2026. The Washington Gaming Commissioners' decision to shut down the centralized surveillance system has contributed to the difficulties faced by cardroom casinos.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
