Houston's 'Mattress Mack' Wins Big with Super Bowl Bet
Jim McIngvale, a 69-year-old Houston businessman, won $3.46 million from a bet on the Super Bowl. McIngvale bet that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would beat the Kansas City Chiefs with a 3.5-point spread. McIngvale had to travel to Colorado to place his bet because sports betting is outlawed in Texas.
McIngvale ran a promotion where customers who spent $3,000 or more on a mattress would get their money refunded if the Buccaneers won. McIngvale opened his Gallery Furniture stores for families to take shelter during recent storms.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
