Mattiас Eybingеr: From Casual Poker to High-Stakes Tournaments
Mattiас Eybingеr, a young Austrian poker player, began his journey at the age of 17, playing with friends for fun. He started playing online poker immediately after Black Friday and initially struggled to become a winning player. However, he discovered a passion for hyper-turbo 6-max SNGs and quickly became successful in this format.
Eybingеr's first significant online poker achievement was winning a SCOOP event for $100k. This victory not only boosted his bankroll but also made his life easier. He also achieved the status of Supernova Elite five times, which was a significant accomplishment in those days.
Eybingеr transitioned to live poker in 2015, starting with satellite tournaments in Vegas. He enjoyed the live experience, including the interaction with other players and the overall atmosphere. His transition to live poker was also influenced by the reforms at PokerStars in 2016, which made his online specialization unsustainable. Eybingеr's parents initially thought he was playing poker as a hobby but later supported his career after seeing his results.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
