Matt Berkey Accuses PokerNews of Bias in Coverage of Accused Cheaters
Matt Berkey has slammed PokerNews for promoting accused cheaters Bryn Kenney, Jake Schindler, and Ali Imsirovic during the 2022 WSOP. The American accused the journalism team of unfairly “shadow-banning” PokerBunny, a regular on Live at the Bike and Hustler Casino Live, while still featuring the accused heavily in its write-ups.
Connor Richards, an editor and live reporter at PokerNews, responded to Berkey's accusation, stating that the coverage of PokerBunny is not comparable to that of high-profile accused cheaters. He tweeted, “Equating coverage of Pokerbunny to coverage of high-profile accused cheats running deep in the Main is absolutely bonkers, man. It’s almost as if one of these 2 things is inherently newsworthy and notable. Criticize our coverage if you want, but this analogy is nonsensical.”
Chad Holloway, PokerNews Executive Editor USA, explained that PokerBunny's reputation for being unprofessional towards reporters and her lack of a significant tournament record are reasons why she might not be covered as much. He stated, “If she is seen in an interesting hand it will be reported but her reputation for being unprofessional towards reporters in the past over a lack of coverage is probably working against her.”

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
