Magnus Carlsen Shows Off Poker Skills on Hustler Casino Live

Magnus Carlsen, the 5-times World Chess Champion, decided not to defend his chess title this time around. Instead, he turned his attention to poker, playing a $10/$25 NLH game on Hustler Casino Live. He sat down at the table with other social media stars including Alexandra Botez, Nate Hill, Nick Austin, Bryce Hall, and Mariano Grandoli.

In a standout hand, Magnus Carlsen called a $3,200 river bet from Nick Austin. Carlsen had 4♥ 3♥, while Austin had A♣ J♠. The board was K♠ 8♣ 4♠ 9♥ 10♣. Carlsen said, "You’re going three streets, eh?" before delving into the possibilities. "There aren’t a lot of hands ... you have A-K obviously… there aren’t a lot of hands that you would just go three streets with air." Carlsen added: "I just don’t believe you at all, this is the problem," before calling and finding out he was good.

Magnus Carlsen's passion for poker seems to be on the increase, having played in the recent Norwegian Poker Championship held in Bratislava.
