Lex O Poker Shares Insights on Tipping Dealers in Offline Poker
Lex O Poker, a professional poker player from Florida, is known for his insights into the poker world, which he shares on YouTube. Recently, he addressed the topic of tipping dealers in offline casinos, sparking a lively discussion among his followers.
Lex O Poker believes that the size of the winnings should not affect the amount of tips given to dealers. He tips dealers based on their speed, behavior, and friendliness, rather than the size of the pot. "If for you poker is a profession, the size of the won bank should not affect the tips," he stated. Lex plays around 1,200+ hours a year and tips at least $1 per bank, resulting in a significant amount of tips annually.
Lex mentioned that he often tips $5-10 after winning a large pot, which drew criticism from viewers. "I raised this topic because in the videos on YouTube, I am often laughed at for the fact that even after winning a large bank, I leave $5-10," he explained. He clarified that smaller pots require more effort from dealers, so tips should not depend on the pot size. "Small banks of $200 last several minutes, in them there may also be side pots, and distributions for $2,000 usually end in an all-in already on the preflop, and it takes 25 seconds," he said.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
